$100,000 Computer Capital Project

Help Us Update Our Aging Technology

The COMPASS School's computer systems are in serious condition, so we're launching a $100,000 Computer Capital Project to address this. Computers currently in use are between 6-10 years old, and cannot support newer software that has demonstrated effectiveness.

The Project will enable COMPASS to provide new computer equipment in our student computer lab and in our student classrooms, and will make it possible for COMPASS School to create a COWS ('Computers On Wheels') mobile computer lab. The mobile lab can be moved as needed to respond to creative interactive student projects throughout the building as well as be used for vocational training, health education, speech/language and violence prevention projects. The Project will enable COMPASS to provide more efficient management and documentation of program services and outcomes.

We have been awarded a $14,000 Challenge Grant by the John W. Alden Trust for the Computer Capital Project. The John Alden Trust believes that the COMPASS School will improve its ability to teach computer skills and to use computers as teaching tools in the classrooms through updated technology. To obtain this challenge grant, we need your help to reach the Project's challenge goal of $50,000.
