COMPASS provides a wide range of special education, prevention, enrichment, and support services to economically disadvantaged and at-risk children, adolescents and families.

COMPASS kids and families are working against great odds to make a better life for themselves. We draw inspiration from the students and families who have come to count on COMPASS to be there for them during good times and bad times.

Every donation to COMPASS is very much appreciated, and helps to provide resources and support that truly make a difference in the lives of COMPASS kids and families.

COMPASS developed Special Initiative programming to enrich our core school based and family based programs. Special Initiatives are unfunded or underfunded services that enrich programs, that respond to the changing needs of the children and families we work with, and that enrich the lives of students and families.

Special Initiatives include:

• Field trips to cultural and historical sites and cities
• Sports Teams
• Music and Arts Programs
• Stipends for Student Job Apprenticeships
• Support for our "Help Fund." COMPASS' Help Fund provides resources for basic and emergency needs of our students and families, and include:

  • School Supplies
  • Hygiene Supplies
  • Household Furnishings
  • Utility and Transportation Vouchers
  • Interview/Job Search Clothing
  • Violence Prevention Day Recognition Awards and Rewards, and more
